24 Hours in Roma

One perfect day—from ancient wonders to aperitivi and nightlife.

Whether it’s your first time in the Eternal City or a quick stop on a longer Italian trip, here’s how to make the most of just one day in Rome. Curated with soul, balance, and zero tourist traps.

9:30 – 12:30 | Morning Among the Emperors

Start your day at the majestic Colosseo, entering the arena where gladiators once fought. Continue through the Fori Imperiali, the grandest ruins of Rome’s imperial past. Wrap up the morning at the Basilica di Santa Maria in Aracoeli, an unexpected gem with a breathtaking view from the top of the Capitoline Hill.

12:30 – 14:30 | Lunch Like a Local

Walk across the river to Trattoria Da Teo, one of Trastevere’s most beloved traditional Roman spots. Order the fiori di zucca, the tonnarelli cacio e pepe, and a glass of wine. Sit outside only, or skip altogether—this piazza is too beautiful to enjoy from indoors.

14:30 – 17:30 | Villa Borghese Strolls & Options

Head to Villa Borghese, Rome’s most elegant park. Here you’ve got options:
Let the kids burn energy at the well-equipped playground near Viale dei Bambini.
Dive into world-class art at the Galleria Borghese, home to masterpieces by Bernini and Caravaggio (advance reservation needed).
Or simply stroll the shaded paths and reach the Pincian Terrace for a panoramic view over Piazza del Popolo.

17:30 – 19:00 | Aperitivo Time in Campo de’ Fiori

Head to Campo de’ Fiori for a classic Roman aperitivo. Sit at a corner bar with a spritz and olives and soak in the golden hour. It’s lively but not chaotic, and perfectly placed for your dinner destination.

 19:30 – 21:30 | Dinner at Pierluigi

Dine at the iconic Pierluigi, one of Rome’s top seafood destinations. The piazza itself looks like a movie set—elegant, glowing, cinematic. Book your table outside and go for the raw fish plateau or the classic spaghetti alle vongole. American travelers love this spot—and for good reason.

21:30 – 23:00 | Walk Through Trastevere

Post-dinner, cross back into Trastevere. The evening vibe is at its best now. Lose yourself in the cobbled streets, or grab a digestivo or a final gelato. No agenda—just wander.

 23:00 – 01:00 | Nightcap at Magick Bar

End your night at the stylish Magick Bar, a late-night cocktail spot with riverfront energy and great music. It’s where locals end their night—and now, you do too.
